Complete Guide to Internet Promotion for Musicians, Artists & Songwriters - Jun, 2000
3rd edition printing of my Internet Promotion guide for Music Artists. Many sections in the book encouraged readers to register their copy. From there we captured email addresses to promote upcoming workshops, and new informational products. This publication was self-published and sold just under 4800 copies. We got it placed in Barnes & Noble, Borders and Mars Music stores and then supported the distribution with a book tour up and down the West Coast and around the Southwest as far as Texas.
MusicBiz Magazine - Web World Column - Nov, 2000
One of my columns that I produced to support promoting the Complete Guide to Internet Promotion book.
Wired Magazine PodCast- Music Spin - Nov, 2000
Wired Magazine wanted to Interview me because my stance in the Complete Guide to Internet Promotion was very controversial at the time....even while the dot com boom was happening I firmly believed that live shows were still important, while may other "Music Industry" gurus where predicting that the future Music Artist would never have to play live again. I was lambasted for this stance. However, to this day, a Music Artist still has not gained fame completely online without any live shows. When you read my writings, hear my audio CDs, watch my videos, etc. one message the I consistently pound into the head of artists, is that the Internet should mainly be used as a tool to maintain the relationships they are building through live show performances!
Is Your Web Site Limiting Your CD Sales - Jun, 2000
An Interview style CD Sampler that I used to pass out or dropped into book orders as a bonus. In it, I explain what their web site may be doing to damage their CD Sales and image in the real-world with Music Industry professionals.
